15:30 Inauguration of CEU Medieval Radio (www.meievalstudies.ceu.hu/radio)
Invited opener: Prof. John Shattuck, President and Rector of Central European University

In October 2011 Medieval Studies faculty voted in favor of the student initiative of launching CEU Medieval Radio will play medieval and renaissance music on the internet, pre-recorded papers of guest and in-house lecturers, and interviews.. In a wider perspective CEU Medieval Radio, as the university’s first ever such initiative, will help raise interest in the department, and in its academic programs, conferences, and job vacancies. Combined with online applications such as Facebook, CEU Medieval Radio will create a group of online platforms through which the department will reach more people in the world than before.
